The Departed is an American remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs. Infernal Affairs was a great movie about a gangster undercover as a cop and a cop undercover as a gangster each trying to catch each other.
In saying that I don't know why anyone would cast Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon, surely I'm not the only one who could never take them seriously as tough guys... I think Martin Scorsese must really have a thing for Leo (The Aviator, Gangs of New York).
